Welcome to one of the UK's Premiere photo clubs based near Birmingham, West Midlands.
Smethwick Photographic Society is a friendly and welcoming camera club with a varied programme for everyone.
We welcome new members so why not come along to one of our meetings to see what we have on offer.
It is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of Judith Parry, who died in the early morning of the 7th June 2026.
A lot of you will have known Judith through her absolute dedication to Smethwick Photographic Society over many years, and also to the wider Photographic Community within the UK.
I am sure you will all join me in wishing both Roger, and their daughter Diane, our very best wishes at this time.
Judith will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Regular Events - SPS throughout the week
MONDAY PHOTO SCHOOL
Weekly hands-on skills and guidance run by The Photography School.
7pm – 9.15pm
Drop-in Photo Clinic
Every Monday Night we host this hands-on session provided by the Photography School.
Open to all, no pre-booking required. Pay on the night – £4 for SPS/Photo School members, £6 for non-members.
Thursday Night Lecture
Our main weekly club night hosting a broad range of inspirational talks.
8pm – 9.30pm, doors 7pm
MCPF Photofolio Exhibition 2026
Thursday 11th June we have the annual ‘MCPF Photofolio Exhibition & PDI Presentation’ organised by Stourport Camera Club. The PDI presentations will be given live in the clubroom and also via the web stream. Starts 8pm.
Thursday Night Hybrid Lectures
Every year, some of the finest speakers in the UK present at The Old School House. Although Smethwick is best enjoyed in person, we offer a high definition live stream if you prefer to attend lectures from home.
