My creative pathway from my roots as an equine portrait artist through to a successful fine art photographer.
Initially my photography was to fuel the need for good clear reference images for working at my easel. This dynamic began to change as clients requested prints as often as paintings, so accordingly, my respect for the camera grew. I joined a Camera Club and my journey took me through LRPS, CPAGB, LMPA, AFIAP and is now resting just above a BPE3*.
My artwork is now more digital based and hangs in galleries across the UK and Europe, join me on this insightful journey from paintbrush to pixel.

Zoom meeting starts at 7.30pm (members can join to chat informally).

Programme begins at 8.00pm.

Weird and Wonderful – ish, Phil Cooling,

Next Thursday (19th November 2020) We have a lecture by Phil Cooling, FRPS

My presentation takes you on a journey from my early days with digital photography to achieving my F.R.P.S in 2014. My early work is dreadful….I took anything & everything and then threw the photoshop kitchen sink at them to add impact. I quickly got through this phase and began to produce images that won club competitions and gained entry to International Salons.
This was my Wonderful…ish period but then I moved on to specialising in creative composite images, which some may find weird, but became the subject of my successful F.R.P.S. panel.
There should be something in the presentation for everybody and I look forward to sharing my journey with you

Zoom meeting starts at 7.30pm (members can join to chat informally).

Programme begins at 8.00pm.

Churches of Romney Marsh, Clive Tanner,

Next Thursday (12th November 2020) We have a lecture by Clive Tanner,  ARPS, FRPS, MPAGB, APAGB

My interest in photography started many years ago when I joined Tonbridge Camera Club, it was soon apparent that my photography was nowhere near the standard required for successful club competition so I started at the beginning; taking, developing and printing black and white pictures. This went on for a couple of seasons and a level of proficiency was attained. Then came the seminal evening at the club when a member showed a couple of church interior prints, they received rapturous applause and good marks; I was hooked!
Since that evening I have studied and practiced my craft, producing many hundreds of prints and gaining ARPS, FRPS, DPAGB and MPAGB distinctions, all with slides or prints (Silver and digital) and showing ecclesiastic interiors. There have also been periods photographing museum artefacts and some landscapes but my main interest remains church/cathedral interiors.

Zoom meeting starts at 7.30pm (members can join to chat informally).

Programme begins at 8.00pm.
