Dance & Portraiture with Derwood Pamphilon

Thursday 19th May 2022;  We have a talk entitled “Dance and Portraiture’ by Derwood Pamphilon

I took up photography shortly before I retired and from the outset was attracted to studio work. My passion is photographing people and movement, especially dance in its many forms. Urban exploration, travel photography and creative work have also been part of my photographic journey. My talk is projected images, the first part covering portraiture, both studio and location based, including art nude images, while the second half is entirely devoted to dance photography. I will be showing studio images as well as those taken in theatres. I have had the privilege of photographing dancers from top companies in recent years, mostly at London theaters.

Capturing the Imagination with Warren Alani

Thursday 28th April 2022;  We have a talk by our very own Warren Alani entitled Capturing the Imagination

Warren says “The presentation will focus mainly on a particular style of my photography. It’s a style that I have always wanted to explore not for the purposes of exhibitions or competitions, but for my own passion and intrigue. It depicts a style of photography not typically seen in camera clubs. Most of the images in the presentation may not fulfil all the technical requirements of a standard exhibition or competition judge, but I hope they fill the audience with the same emotion I felt when capturing these moments around the world. Also, the majority of the images have not been seen by the club members.”
