Iceland is a photographer’s dream, with so many amazing locations, it really is nature in the raw.

Tim is well known for his nudes in the landscape, and in this talk he places them in the majestic Icelandic landscape.

Tim also gives a number of tips for shooting in harsh locations, and will be showing some behind the scenes shots to show how the images were produced.

Two iconic subjects brought together in one lecture.

Making a Silk Purse from a Sow’s Ear with Neil Scott

On Thursday  29th January Smethwick Photographic Society and guests will be entertained and informed by the great Scottish photographer Neil Scott. His presentation is entitled:-

‘Making a Silk Purse from a Sow’s Ear’

Neil has been taking photographs since he was around 8 or 9 years old. He is member of both Edinburgh Photographic Society and Midlothian Camera Club. He used to chase distinctions, resulting in being awarded Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society (FRPS) in 2012 and he accumulated salon acceptances getting as far as the EFIAP silver level in 2015 before becoming bored with the paperwork and log-keeping involved.

At his last count he had close to 2000 acceptances and over 150 awards in international exhibitions and salons.

Nowadays he says he is content to enter the occasional print salon, while the rest of his images are just to please himself, rather than trying to impress judges and selectors.

Neil is a Scottish Photographic Federation judge and lecturer, and enjoys giving talks to camera clubs, but nowadays just by Zoom.

Starts at 8pm in the CLUBROOM and on the new stream system for those not able to attend.
