On Thursday 8th October Smethwick Photographic Society will be welcoming theatre photographer Cat Cross. Cat will present her specialist area of interest, namely theatre photography via Zoom.
Cat Cross is a freelance photographer based in Hertfordshire who specialises in theatre, portraits, events and schools photography. Her work has been featured on the BBC News website, on BBC Sounds and The Guardian.
Cat has been a keen amateur photographer for most of her life and was fortunate to turn this passion into a career in 2023.
In this talk Cat will tell us about her early steps into theatre photography, from a teenage visit to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, working with local am-dram groups to hone her skills, and finally to the project which would define her future career path.
Here’s a selection of what we can expect from Cat:
Starts at 8pm in the CLUBROOM and on the new stream system for those not able to attend.
